I recently heard abt the SERVICES API available for FL programmers. It’s the coolest thing a developer can imagine ! The services API provides access to PIM listings, calendar entries and so on ! So, your mobile screen is gonna be more animated ! Because complete insight on this API is not yet available, one should wait until its released. You can have a look at its splendor here at Forum Nokia’s Wiki. Plus, Alessandro has also mentioned it on his Blog.
However, there is small catch ( I feel its a big catch - but still ) , the Services API is available only on S60 Fifth Edition devices, to name the revolutionary touch phone 5800. However, a person from NOKIA told me that this API will be ported across other platforms too.
I strongly believe that platform independence is an essential feature if you are building a commercial product. Thats why, I started doing reading on Flash Lite and J2ME , to achieve the device independence. It will be interesting to know how Nokia releases this API. We will have to see how Services API achieves this platform independence. But one thing is for sure, KuneriLite might face danger if Services API gets a grip !
