Installing Python for S60.

On the phone:

Python for S60 is made up of two parts: an interpreter that compiles the code and runs it, and a shell that allows quick testing of applications in the form of scripts (text files with a .py extension).

 1) Determining the S60 version of your phone and downloading the appropriate Python version
 Go to:
Devices Page and locate your phone model to download PyS60 for it

 2) Installation:

 a) Transfer the two files (PythonForS60 and PythonScriptShell) to your phone
 b) Install the Python interpreter (PythonForS60) and then the Script Shell
 c) For S60 3rd edition, you may wish to install a signed Script Shell, with more capabilities, instead. For this, download the unsigned Shell, sign it at Symbian Signed and  install it.

On the emulator:

1) Determining the S60 version of your emulator and downloading the appropriate Python SDK version:
Go to:
Devices Page and locate your phone model to download the PyS60 SDK for it

 2) Installation:
 a) Extract the files from the archive
 b) Simply copy all the files and folders you’ve extracted to the corresponding location in the emulator’s location. For folders that have the same name go as deep as possible and copy the files from the SDK folders into the appropriate emulator folders; do not replace emulator folders with SDK ones.
